Issues with Closed Captions in the Zenva app will depend on your specific device and how you're trying to view the video. The sections below will detail specific situations that cover the most likely cause.
Note that we currently only offer subtitles in English.
In this case, the most likely situation is that closed caption were somehow turned off. You can check whether they're on or not by following the steps below.
1) While watching a lesson, click the Closed Caption button on the bottom video bar. If you do not see this bar, tapping the screen should bring it up.
2) If Closed Captions are on, you should see a checkmark next to the English option. If this is not the case, you can simply tap the English option to turn them on.
Similar to streaming, the most likely cause for non-appearing captions is that they are turned off. You can make sure they're turned on by performing the following steps.
1) While watching a lesson, click the Gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the video. If you do not see this icon/bar, tapping the screen should bring it up.
2) If Closed Captions are on, the Subtitles option will read English. If this is not the case, you can tap the off option and select English from the popup.
Unfortunately, Closed Captions are not available for offline viewing on iOS devices. This is due to a limitation with the third-party video player itself. As such, we're afraid there's nothing we can do in this situation.
If you still are unable to use Closed Captions after following these steps, please submit a bug report with the relevant information so the issue can be escalated to our development team.
